Gujarat: There should be no politics about development works because if there is politics about such works, then the country and the public have to bear the brunt of it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this during a program organized on the occasion of 71st Constitution Day in Kevadia, Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that due to such constraints, development work is delayed, secondly due to that delay, the price increase is also a waste of public money.
Since the program was being held at Kevadia in Gujarat, where the Statue of Unity of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel has been built, the Prime Minister referred to the Sardar Sarovar Dam being built near the Statue of Unity and said that the construction work of this dam was done in 1962 It had started, but due to some problem, the matter was stuck and because of this, the dam which should have been ready within a few years, took 55 years to build. Significantly, this dam was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2017.
The Prime Minister, while referring to the Sardar Sarovar Dam, has tried to explain how if the development works involve politics, then the people of the country also suffer from it. Also, because of such politics, there is a hindrance in development work and extra time is taken. Due to which the cost of that work also increases by many times compared to earlier and the work which could have been done in less money earlier, by the time it is completed, the cost of that work increases considerably and due to this a lot of extra money Is spent
If the occasion was of the Constitution Day, then the Prime Minister also mentioned how people abuse the rights given in the Constitution by citing it for their own benefit. The Prime Minister said that people mention the rights given to the citizens of the country for their benefit under the Constitution, but they do not see that the people of the country have to bear the brunt of it. To tell this also, the Prime Minister gave the example of Sardar Sarovar Dam. The Prime Minister said that those who were obstructing the work of Sardar Sarovar Dam, are now missing and are silent. But now after the completion of this dam, not only Gujarat but also Rajasthan gets a lot of water. The PM said that if this dam had been built within a few years of the commencement of work, then the people of Gujarat and Rajasthan would have benefited from it many years in advance.
During this time, the Prime Minister also emphasized the matter of mutual harmony between the three pillars of democracy i.e. the judiciary, the executive and the legislature. The Prime Minister said that to follow the constitution, it is necessary that the three pillars of democracy should work in mutual harmony, so that the country can be taken forward on the path of progress.
