Mumbai: The Bombay High Court heard today in the case of the demolition of BMC in the office of actress Kangana Ranaut. On Wednesday, the High Court had asked why the officials of the civic body went inside the property even though its owner was not present there. Today BMC filed the answer to many such questions.
The BMC, in its affidavit, described the action as correct and said that illegal construction was dropped. Action was taken under the rules. The court should not interfere in illegal construction.
After the affidavit was filed, Kangana's lawyer started to argue. After which the High Court said that Kangana's lawyer should file the reply by 14 September on the affidavit of BMC. If you want to keep new facts, then keep that also.
At the same time, the BMC lawyer was asked to put his side on the plea of BMC Kangana till 18 September. With this, the High Court postponed the hearing till 22 September.
The court asked Kangna's office to maintain the status quo. The BMC started the crackdown on illegal changes in Ranaut's office on Wednesday. Ranaut has approached the High Court through his lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui.
Ranaut recently compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, on which the ruling Shiv Sena expressed displeasure. The BMC is controlled by the Shiv Sena.
